So I finally have internet in halls, apparently it takes forever for anything to get done in France. I'm not impressed with the so-laid-back-they're-nearly-horizontal attitude here. In fact it's bordering on rude. Shop assistants and university staff either carry on their personal conversations with each other while you stand there and wait for help, or else they actually walk away from the till etc when you walk up to pay/order something. This happens ALL THE TIME. Seriously, how does the country function?
Other than that, things are going ok. I've started lectures this week, which have been a pain to sort out, but that's just as much due to the ridiculously restrictive year-abroad requirements of KCL (my home uni) than to do with Lyon 2. I'm studying French linguistics, 20th Century French literature, Contempory culture and literature, Translation and possibly history too. I've signed up to do a climbing class every week too, so that should be fun. I wanted to do pistol shooting but unfortunately it was full :( Climbing will hopefully help me get some upper body strength, which I badly need. It's very embarrassing when you can't open some doors because they're too heavy...
I'll be back to proper, fashion-related posts soon, but if I'm perfectly honest I'm feeling really uninspired at the moment. I've already mentioned in my last post the whole lack-of-style thing I've noticed here in Lyon, and I don't have the time or broadband speed to keep up with fashion weeks various at the moment. I don't really like those "here are some pictures I've just pulled off style.com" posts, that don't even make an effort to make any comment other than "love" and the like.
Also, I'm going to be honest, I don't want to take any outfit posts at the moment because I feel that I look like total shit at the moment. Excuse my French. Everyone in France, lacking in fashion sense or not, is super skinny and I just feel practically obese here. I know I'm not fat, but I'm not the skinniest girl either and I feel like crap in everything I'm wearing at the moment. Also I only have good light for taking pictures between about 9am-11am, and I'm either out before that, or staying in my pajamas until past that, and I'm tired of taking shit quality pictures even though I have a good camera. Must learn to use it better.
This is starting to become an incoherent rant, so I shall wrap it up. I've had lots of classes today, then I went to Ikea, so I'm pretty knackered.
Once again, thank you for sticking with me, and for all of your wonderful, positive, supportive comments and advice on my last couple of posts. You guys are THE BEST READERS EVER AND I LOVE YOU.
I'll have some quality content for you soon.
Oh, and an amaze competition I hope! If not maybe I'll have to run a give away for a bottle of Beaujolais or something? :p
