This month I've chosen Olly Murs' debut album as my MotM.
I've been listening to it loads recently, because it makes me happy, and I don't think I need any more reason than that to post about it.
For my non-British readers, Olly Murs was a contestant on The X-Factor, a tv singing competition, a couple of years ago, and came second (to Joe McElderry!?! I will never understand how he won.)
His debut album has been out for about three months now, but as I said, I've recently been listening to it quite a lot. All of the tracks on it are good catchy pop songs. It only takes a couple of listens and you're singing along, and I often find the songs stuck in my head during the day. The lyrics aren't cliched, and for the most part the album is quite upbeat, even the tracks about heartbreak and lost love. It makes you feel quite summery, even though it's the middle of winter at the moment.
My favourite tracks are Please Don't Let Me Go, which was Olly's debut single, I Blame Hollywood, Hold On and Love Shine Down.
Most of the videos on YouTube of Olly's songs have the embed function disabled, but I found this video of him singing Please Don't Let Me Go live and acoustic outside by a canal somewhere (a bit randomly).
Also, he's cute as a button and has an adorable Essex-boy accent. What's not to love?
