Great Britain Represent

I know these outfit photos are awful. The lighting is horrible as I took them at night with a flash, and because I'm wearing my Estee Lauder Double Wear the flash bounced off the SPF in the foundation and made me look like I was wearing badly applied white face paint, hence the face cover-up. I need to keep experimenting on where to put my camera too, as the angle of these isn't particularly flattering, especially for my legs.
I wanted to get an outfit post up though as I haven't done one for a while, and I want to keep a good balance of different types of posts on the blog.

Dress, cardigan and bag - Primark, Shoes and belt - Asos

I wore this to an Erasmus Party last night, so I thought it only fitting I should wear my dress with Buckingham palace guardsmen on it to represent my home country. How sweet is the print?!

I actually decided to change my shoes last minute to a flat pair (which can be seen in this post), because I have to walk to the train station and it's about 20 minutes away.

The party was ok, but not brilliant. It was too crowded, the music wasn't brilliant and although it was supposed to be an event where you could meet new people it was too loud to do that. Also, in Austria there isn't a smoking ban like in Britain and the UK, which will take some getting used to. All of my clothes and my hair reeked of smoke afterwards, which is really unpleasant. I also don't like having to be constantly on the ball to avoid people blowing smoke in your face, yuck. I'm less bothered about going out now though, and I don't really drink very often, so I don't think I'll be a big "party person" whilst I'm here. It'll save me lots of money at least! (Gosh don't I sound like an old lady!)

I did get to see my lovely friend Helen though, who is a teaching assistant in Vienna. I haven't seen her since last June so that was lovely :)

  2. I love that dress, I really really wanted it but it was so indecent on me and I can't bring myself to wear it like a tee with jeans!

  3. This is so cute! I laughed at the face cover-ups--so funny! I'm sure you looked gorgeous anyway though! I love, love, those ASOS shoes too. I've been looking for some like that--trying to build up my collection of wedges and heels.

  8. You look great. The print on the dress is really cool.

Ahh, I'm so used to no smoking indoors, I can imagine it getting some used to have people blowing smoke in your face indoors!

  9. I'm loving the creative covering of your face, where most people would have just used the blur tool.
The print on your dress is really sweet, very British! Shame about the lack of a smoking ban though :(

  13. the print on that dress is so cute, i'll have to keep my eye out for it. I've always wanted to go to Vienna and i'm hoping to go this summer. You've said in a previous post that you often have to correct people that its not Venice and when i tell people I want to go there I have to do the same so I know your pain :)
