DIY To Do List

Although I do have quite a lot of things planned this summer, I also have a lot of free time ahead of me until I go back to uni at the end of September. Unfortunately, I live in quite a small place, and there are no jobs to be had, so I don't have much to fill my free time with and I'm going to be living on a budget.

So I've decided to make a little DIY to do list. I love doing DIYs, and they have the advantage of not only giving me something productive to do with my time, but they're also a lot cheaper than buying new clothes and accessories. I have two big boxes full of fabric, as well as a cupboard full of beads and feathers etcetc, so I shouldn't even have to buy much in the way of new crafty bits to make things with.

So, here's part 1 (it's a long list!) of my "to do" DIYs!
DIY shredded t-shirt, studded phone case, sheer maxi skirt, wire headbands, customised denim shorts
Pics/Inspiration via: Sheer maxi skirt - A Pair and a Spare, Studded phone case - Bleach Black, Wire Headbands, Shredded T-shirt - Childhood Flames, Shorts pic via Tumblr.

What do you think? Have you done any DIYs lately or are you planning any? I'm always after new ideas so let me know!

P.S. To deal with my lack-of-employment situation I've set up a Blog Shop where I'll be selling an absolute ton of stuff. Please check it out, and I'll be adding lots more soon! Thanks!

  2. Loving this, I always say I'll use some of my fabric and make a few bits when I'm home, but never manage it between work and catching up with friends and The Guy. Think the studded phone case and shredded tee both look awesome and the sheer skirt should be a nice easy one!

  4. The studded phone case in your collage looks AMAZING! I made a slightly less cool-looking version of it but all the studs fell off when I drunkenly shoved it in my pocket the following evening, which tells me that very strong glue is needed!

  5. I want to sort out a pair of denim shorts I made.. they could do with some studs or something, I've just left them at home and I'm staying in Winchester over the summer! :(
The sheer maxi skirt looks like a great idea too :) I may try that if I have time.

  6. Ooh this sounds like fun! The studded phone looks really cool, but it looks like it might be uncomfortable to hold/use... very interested to see how it comes out! I have absolutely zero crafty skills so I don't think I'll be doing any DIYs any time soon :P

  13. I just bought the P.S. I Made This book, so I've had DIY on my mind too. I love the idea of customized denim, but I am complete crap at making denim cutoffs! Each time I try, I completely ruin them..sigh. If you have any words of advice, let me know! :)

  14. I'd love to be more creative for clothes DIY. I'm dying to do a shredded shirt as well.
Dn't tempt me with a blog shop! I've already had to avoid the sales like crazy.
