DIY wire hairbands

I made these two wire headbands yesterday and I'm really pleased how they came out. I can cross one thing off of my DIY to do list!

I love these two fabrics. A "space" print and a Prada-esque banana print. They were both fat quarters I got off eBay. Pretty patterned fabrics can get quite expensive, but if you're only looking for a little bit of fabric for a small project like this then fat quarters are brilliant. They're dead cheap and you can get so many different patterns.

These are really easy and quick to make. I sewed each one of these up in about 40 minutes (or during one episode of Bones each. Darn you Leia for getting me addicted!)
If anyone wants a little tutorial just ask and I'll be happy to do one. I'm definitely going to be making some more of these!

  9. gorgeous; you can really tell they're not from the shops (just realised that might sound horrible, but it's really not meant to!) the material is so nice, especially the space print- it even matches your blog header!

  16. Please give us a tutorial- I really love these but refuse to pay like £5 for them when I know they'd be really easy to knock up on the machine! Also, more encouragement to get my arse into gear and tidy my room so I can get my sewing machine out is always appreciated.

  23. Oh I love Bones! Just starting watching the series one boxset and I am addicted already. I am hoping they don't let bones and booth get together and ruin the sexual tension thing that is going on there.

On a side note like the hair bands!
