I was also inspired by the Kenzo bag with its colourful animal print and metal logo, and coupled with how much I've been hearing about the monogramming service that Whistles are offering on their clutch bags, I decided to use metal letters to put my initials on my pouch.
I used this tutorial to make a zip-up lined pouch, and then sewed the chain around the outside for a bit of extra detail. It's a bit of a funny shape and I wish the corners were sharper, but it's the first time I've sewed with faux fur and it turns out that stuff is tricky! It's most likely going to only get used on nights out anyway, so no-one will be able to see how dodgy-looking it is in the dark!
The metal letters are actually earrings I got from eBay because I couldn't find any letter shaped craft studs in the colour I wanted. I still have the other half of each pair, so I'm thinking I might make another one of these in leopard print, maybe in a bright colour if I can find the fabric, and with studs around the edges like the one in the first picture.
And just for fun I thought I'd do my nails with leopard print inspired by the Kenzo SS13 show to (kind of) match.
